Office Photography

Office and workplace photography in Richmond and across Virginia: atriums, lobbies and work floors for architects, designers, contractors and owners.

An office interior is usually built around one idea, and the photographs should find it. In the Dominion offices in Glen Allen, that was a column of pixelated light running up through the atrium in the first phase, and a multi-story wall of backlit perforated metal in the second. At VDOT’s renovated headquarters downtown, it was a barrel-vaulted corridor lined with photographs of Virginia’s highways being built. At the VCU Technology Operations Center on Broad Street, it was a slim new building holding its own between much older facades.

I shoot on 100MP medium format, which keeps glass, light fixtures and deep interiors readable in the same frame, and every finished photograph comes in vertical, horizontal and square versions. Some office work is confidential; those spaces are photographed on the client’s terms.
