The second phase is built around a single, enormous gesture: a multi-story wall of perforated metal, backlit until it reads like static or a field of stars, dropping straight down through the middle of the building. It’s the kind of surface that’s almost impossible to expose — bright enough to blow out completely, textured enough that losing the dots loses the whole point.

So I worked it in brackets and blended the exposures by hand, holding the glow of the panel while keeping the concrete columns, the blue accent bays, and the lime-green niches around it readable. In the mirrored elevator lobby the wall doubles back on itself, and I lined the shot up so the reflection and the real thing sit in perfect symmetry.

What makes this building worth photographing is that the restraint everywhere else — pale stone stairs, white railings, glass-fronted meeting rooms — exists to give that one shimmering wall room to perform. My job was to keep the quiet parts quiet and let the feature carry the frame.
