Aviation Photography

A general-aviation terminal lives on its relationship to the airfield, so the photographs are built around the windows. At Hanover Airport in Ashland, the pilot lounge’s chairs face a wall of glass that opens straight onto the apron and the taxiway, and early-March sun came in low across the polished concrete.

Every terminal poses the same challenge: the inside is dim and warm, the airfield outside is bright, and both have to read in one frame. For the airfield and the site around it, aerial photography is available where airspace allows.
